The challenge is setting the mood for various spaces. From motivating to tranquil, stimulating to inspirational. Using spaces, texture, and color to support the teaching atmosphere and maximize student performance.

North Harrison Community Schools
The project consisted of demolition of several antiquated areas of the existing building, complete renovation of the remaining areas, and several new additions. Portions of the building remained occupied at all times, resulting in a complex construction phasing plan spanning two years.
A new curved classroom wing with sunshade louvers and an administration area was constructed first to relocate students and staff. The existing classrooms and media center were renovated during the summers. The next new construction phase included a kitchen, cafeteria, and performance platform, as well as, special needs and counseling services classrooms. At this same time, a new main building entrance providing enhanced security and an abundance of daylighting was also constructed. The final construction phase included renovation of the existing gymnasium, as well as, construction of gymnasium support spaces and additional classrooms.
A new vibrant color scheme was introduced throughout the building, personified by the whimsical terrazzo patterns throughout the corridors and cafeteria. Plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and technology systems were upgraded throughout the entire building. Exterior improvements included masonry seat walls and landscaping throughout the site.
