James C. Lake, AIA

Jamie became a principal of Kovert Hawkins Architects when reorganized as a corporation in 2002. Since joining the firm in 1995, he has been involved with a variety of project types with extensive experience on design of Educational, Commercial and Public Facilities.
Jamie has served as a Designer, Project Architect and Construction Administrator for a wide variety of commercial, governmental, public, retail, office, educational and historic renovation facilities. He is credited with efficient designs and a sensible design approach.
Jamie's involvement in each project begins with initial design to completion of construction and owner occupancy, with emphasis on working closely with the client to service the project's programmatic needs. His educational and public projects include a strong emphasis on working closely with the Board, Administration, Faculty, Staff, Students and Community.
Jamie initiated and completed the first interdisciplinary design thesis at Ball State University comprised of students from Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning, for the redevelopment of the industrial riverfront property in Downtown Mishawaka, IN. For their work, Jamie and his team were awarded the University's first Thesis Special Citation.
